According to the materials used, our commonly used fish thread can be divided into: nylon wire, carbon wire, ceramic wire and polyethylene wire.

Nylon thread

Nylon thread is a kind of fish thread that we are familiar with. It is made of resin. And the color nylon thread is in the finished product or in the raw material resin, adding color.

As one of the most popular fish thread, nylon thread has the characteristics of good comprehensive performance, wide range of use, high cost performance, excellent ductility and memory; in addition, the nylon line does not absorb water and has good concealment. This kind of high-quality nylon thread also has good anti curl performance. We can take a small piece of nylon thread to do a test. If we scrape this nylon thread with our fingernails, we can see that its crimp strength is very small, and then we can take it back to its original state. That also has something to do with the quality of nylon thread. Poor nylon thread can't achieve this effect.

In fact, nylon thread also has its own disadvantages. For example, when the temperature drops, the nylon thread will become hard and easy to be aged; the strength after nodules is also reduced. The test method is also very simple: we first pull a piece of fish line by hand, and it is difficult to break it; but if we tie a knot on the line and then pull it, it will be easy to break it.

Although nylon line has some disadvantages, it is still very popular with fishermen and is the most widely used fishing line.

Fluorocarbon

Its carbon fiber production line is a kind of carbon fiber production line. Although the carbon wire has poor ductility, it has good water cutting property and good wear resistance, which is called shadowless line by Diaoyou.

The breaking rate is only 18-20%, and it is not easy to elongate when used; the strength decreases very little after absorbing water, and it is very resistant to water immersion; the specific gravity is as high as 1.8, and the cutting water is extremely fast. This kind of line is often used in Jiyu line and Luya line.

Ceramic wire

Ceramic line is a kind of high strength fishing line, which is developed in Japan. Porcelain wire is soft, strong tension, not easy to curl, but it is not really made of porcelain. In China, this kind of fishing line is called solar line by the majority of fishing enthusiasts.

The polymer polymer material is used. When the wire body is molded, the special resin is filled between the molecules of the bulk material to improve the tensile strength of the wire and prevent the wire body from being immersed in water. Then, a second layer of resin is added to the line body to improve the wear resistance of the fishing line; finally, a third layer of resin is added to improve the water resistance of the fishing line. Because of its good tensile strength, wear resistance, extremely low nodule damage rate, especially with the fishing line which is not possessed by the general fishing line to prevent water immersion, it will not or rarely increase the weight of the line and improve the sensitivity of fishing information feedback, so it is called ceramic wire.

Polyethylene wire

PVB wires are made of high strength PVB fibers and are used for multi strand braiding. It's a lot of tension, a lot of strength, even if the knot strength will not be reduced. A fisherman once sawed off the PVC pipe with this thread, but the line is still intact.
